The LMEA (Louisiana Music Educators Association) sponsors the following events pertaining to choirs:
> District Music Assessments (formerly known as District Festival)
> State Music Assessments (formerly known as State Festival)
> District Solo and Small Ensemble Festival
> State Solo and Small Ensemble Festival
> All-State Mixed High School Choir
> All-State Women's High School Choir
District LMEA events are chaired by the District VII Director while all state events are chaired by the LMEA State Vocal Chair.

District LMEA events are chaired by the District VII Director while all state events are chaired by the LMEA State Vocal Chair.
The District VII CDA administers the 1st round of auditions for the LMEA All-State Choirs. Directors interested in registering students for auditions must do the following:
1) Be sure that the directors's NAfME/LMEA and District VII CDA membership are up to date and in good standing.
2) Acquire the audition piece and audition recording from a CDA meeting or through info found in the Louisiana Musician or www.lmeamusic.org
3) Be sure to review the commitment each student must make to 2nd Round auditions and rehearsals, All-State rehearsals and performances, and District VII Senior Honor Choir. Dates can be found on the CDA calendar.
4) Register students for audition by the deadline using the form linked on this page.
5)Bring the students to the audition at their allotted time with one school check (whenever possible).
6) Once results are posted, distribute the 2nd round audition piece as well as senior high district honor choir paperwork.
7) The director must accompany his/her students to 2nd round rehearsals and assist in sectionals, rehearsals, piano playing, etc.
